The Gelderlandplein Shopping Centre situated in Amsterdam Buitenveldert has undergone a complete metamorphosis to an upscale total concept with, aside from an enormous assortment of shops, restaurants, bars, a hotel and offices.
Kroonenberg Estate Group gave us the assignment for the prototyping, engineering, production and installation of the overall wayfinding for both the shopping centre and the parking garage.

Our solution

Both technically and aesthetically the wayfinding had to be completely in tune with the slim dimensions and architectural lines of the new mall concept.
Therefore slim elements with a minimal sign-depth were of the essence, whilst maintaining a superior light emission.
In additon to this, the enormous variation in suspender lengths was an absolute challenge with both the inventory and production, followed by the final installation.
After extensive prototyping and lighting tests, both on site and in the VB&VH Experience room, the EcoUnlimitLed (EUL) LED fixture system was selected, thus guaranteeing a beautiful smooth light spreading even with the application of minimal sign-depths.
The all-around rimless montage-facing is proof of highly innovative craftsmanship.
Thanks to an extensive survey, followed by production and logistics, the installation, including an enormous variety of stainless steel free-hanging suspenders, was a smooth operation.
We are obviously proud of the end-result which fully meets the requirements of both the client and the designer.
And of course during the renovation; it was business as usual.
