VB&VH have obtained the assignment for the wayfinding of the largest building in Europe, suitably named ‘De Rotterdam’.
It has been designed by Rem Koolhaas and consists of 44 floors and a total floor space of 160,000 m2.

This conspicuous building at the head of the Wilhelmina-pier on ‘de kop van Zuid’ (a specific area in the south of Rotterdam) will, within the stylish interior decoration, be outfitted with a unique wayfinding.
This will consist of totems, ceiling-pillars and ceiling–signing built of steel frames, with a characteristic ‘form-language’ and coated with oxidised brass in various colour-shades, and with lasered synthetic embossed lettering.
This combination generates a very stylish and unique character.
Numerous digital prints (plotted in hexagonal shapes) on walls and pillars will give accurate directions.
Illuminated external building identifications are also part of the project.
